The Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP) llama a postular en jornada de entrenamiento sobre metodología experimental

The Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP) network is planning an EGAP Learning Days workshop in Santiago, Chile. This five-day meeting aims to train participants in the main concepts and tools of experimental methodology. It consists of workshops focused on critical aspects of impact evaluation designs or experimental interventions and workshops to assist participants with their own research designs. It will take place at the Universidad Diego Portales and the full agenda will be posted soon.

Organization: The event is organized by Fernando Rosenblatt (Universidad Diego Portales) and Jake Bowers (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign). The EGAP members supporting this workshop will be:

  • Maarten Voors, Wageningen University

We invite young professors, post-doctoral fellows, PhD candidates, or policymakers (in charge of the design and/or impact evaluations of public policies) from Latin America that use or seek to use experimental methods in their research to apply. Applicants must have a background in social sciences as well as basic knowledge of statistics and/or econometrics. Finally, please note that the workshop´s language is English; applicants should feel comfortable reading and exchanging ideas in English. To ensure a fruitful exchange, 10 applicants will be accepted.

Deadline: December 20, 2015.

Fellowships: Accepted applicants will be contacted to coordinate further details and to request additional information. Each fellowship covers participants´ costs, including: flight tickets to/from Santiago (when needed), housing, breakfast, and lunch. The selection committee is composed of the organizers and the professors of the event.
